Art Education

The City of Helsinki Cultural Office provides free art education at Kanneltalo for local schools as support for their own art education.

Primary schools are offered 5x2 art and cinema education. Cultural courses with themes that change seasonally are organised for secondary schools, upper secondary schools and vocational education institutions. Skidikino events are 30-minute short film events for children over the age of three. The non-verbal animations introduce children to watching films in a theatre setting. Theatre Club provides theatre eduction for children and young people outside of school hours. Operation Pulse! organises a wide variety of recreational opportunities and leisure activities for young people aged 12–18 year round.

Kanneltalo´s art education activities are supplemented by summer courses for schoolchildren and workshops related to its programme.

The education is mainly in Finnish.

Culture Producer Liisa Paatsalo is in charge of art education and contacts with schools, liisa.paatsalo@hel.fi, tel. 040 752 2290.
